GLAMGLOW SUPERCLEANSE: Hit or Miss?

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I love GLAMGLOW face masks. Pricy but oh so effective. Not too long ago, GLAMGLOW released a line of cleansers that go along with the masks and at a significantly cheaper price tag. I was in between cleansers so I thought I’d give it a shot.

GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Cleanser

GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Cleanser

I have the SUPERCLEANSE formula which matches the SUPERCLEANSE mask so it is designed to start out as mud but transform into a lather that washes away dirt and rids pores of impurities. The texture is similar to the masks, its green and feels exactly like a mud mask. After I rinse off my makeup off, I pat my face dry, then take a pump of the cleanser and apply it all over my face. Once it is evenly distributed, I wet the brush of my Clarisonic and start working it over my face. I don’ think it was meant to be used with a Clarisonic but I feel like my face is the cleanest when I use it. Once the Clarisonic’s shuts off (it’s tied to be on for a minute), I start rinsing it off in circular motions. My face feels so clean after I’m done using this cleanser. I literally cannot say enough good things about this product. My face has that great tingly feeling after and just feels so refreshed. I would highly recommend this to people who have oily skin or problem skin.

There are two other formulations as well, THIRSTYCLEANSE for dry skin, YOUTHCLEANSE for anti-aging. I’m sure another one will come out to match the POWERMUD mask as well.

I really like this cleanser, I think it has made a difference in my skin and it actually makes my skin feel so incredibly clean. I would say this cleanser is a huge hit!

August 2014 Ipsy

My Ipsy bag came this weekend and I wanted to share it with you all! I am super excited about what I got so check it out below:

August 2014 Ipsy

August 2014 Ipsy

  • Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliant Mask: I have had this mask before and I love it. Normally it comes in a pot but I think this is easier to use. This is a big sample size too!
  • Urban Decay Perversion Mascara: I am so excited about this one. I have heard so much about it and I’m really excited to try this out and see if they hype is right!
  • Lord & Berry Black Silk Kajal Liner: This is a tiny sample so I think this will go in my purse for touch ups. I’ve never heard of this brand so I’m not sure what to expect.
  • Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo lip balm: I feel like this lip balm formula is a bit thin, but it does feel nice on my lips. I can never have too many lip balms I guess so it’s not too bad.
  • Manna Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion: I was a little nervous about this at first, but I swatched it and it doesn’t show up quite as pink as it is in the tube and it provides a nice glow.

That’s what I got in my Ipsy this month! Get your own Ipsy bag here and test out some awesome products!

February Empties

Warning, this is going to be a LONG post. I have a ton of empties that I’ve been saving since my last post so get ready!

Empties

Empties

  1. MAC Plushglasses in Fulfilled and Power Supply: It was a struggle to finish these. I was really not a fan. While they did stay for a long time on the lips, they almost stayed too long. I will probably not repurchase, I have other glosses that I like better.
  2. Sally Hansen Zero Bumps: This is a spray for your bikini line to prevent bumps. It works well, smells like vanilla, lasts a long time, and I’m already working on my second bottle.
  3. Johnson’s No More Tangles: I liked this detangler, it was cheap and the bottle is huge. I would definitely recommend!
  4. Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ Foundation: I loved loved loved this foundation. If I didn’t have another bottle to finish, I would for sure repurchase this. I definitely will in the future.
  5. Batiste Dry Shampoo in Deep & Dark Brown: If you read my blog, you know how much I love this dry shampoo, I probably won’t try another because this one is the best.
  6. Givenchy Play Perfume: I loved this scent, with notes of bergamot, sweet pea, amyris wood, tiare flower, sandalwood, and musk, it is a deep scent that stayed all day. Loved it!
  7. Maybelline One by One Volum’ Express Mascara: This was a nice mascara, nothing special.
  8. GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment: This mask is amazing, I can’t say enough good things about it. Well worth the steep price tag for a small jar!
  9. Philosophy Hope in  Jar: I wrote a review on this quite a while ago, and I loved it until it broke me out after a few weeks of use. Plus, the closer to the bottom of the jar I got, the worse it smelled. And it didn’t really moisturize. I will not repurchase this product.
  10. Tarte Lights Camera Flashes Mascara: I had a sample sized tube and really liked it, though I found the brush to be a little too big and a little to sharp. If it got too close to my lid, it would sometimes poke me. Not cool.
  11. Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara: It was a nice mascara, but the brush was huge and for the price, I won’t be repurchasing this product.
  12. L’Oreal Volumnious Mascara: This mascara is one of the best around, I really loved everything about it. On my next target run, I will pick up another tube.
  13. Maybelline Great Lash in Maroon: I wanted to try a colored mascara, but I never really used this. It looked good over a coat of black mascara, but it dried out before I could finish the tube.

These are all my empties! I tried to keep the reviews short so this wasn’t a super long post. Happy Monday!

GLAMGLOW Mask Review

Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment

If your skin is anything like mine, then it is in serious need of pampering after the holidays. I got hooked on GLAMGLOW about six months ago when I tried the black jar version. For the holidays, Sephora released a gift set that included a full-sized white jar mask as well as the smaller black jar mask. The white jar is the supermud clearing treatment which is exactly what I need right now. This mask is kind of creepy because as it dries on your face, these little dark spots are left where all the oil is getting sucked out of your pores. It’s actually quite surprising at first, but it really does get things out of your face. It goes on black and dries to a whitish green. I can really see the results the morning after I use the mask because my skin has had time to readjust and repair itself. I don’t like to cover my entire face as it is not cheap. I also use it as a spot treatment which will extend the life of this little jar. I hope Sephora brings back the gift set for the next holiday season!

GLAMGLOW Face Mask Review

GLAMGLOW Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

GLAMGLOW Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

If you haven’t heard of GLAMGLOW, you probably don’t have a Pinterest account. This ‘miracle’ mask has been making its rounds through the beauty community promising to suck the dirt out of your pores, so naturally I was intrigued. There was one major problem, it is super expensive for the size. The largest size is 1.2 oz and will run you around $70. I found this tiny jar at Sephora for only $19 and decided to give it a shot. There isn’t much product in here, but there is enough for probably 4 or 5 masks. I have only used it as a full face mask twice because normally I just use it on spots and areas that need extra love. I have the “Tinglexfoliate” one and boy does it tingle, but in a good way. It also doesn’t have an offending smell. I like to put this on after I cleanse my skin but before I do the rest of my skin care routine. I find that when it has dried, there are all these little dark spots where something has been absorbed by the mask. I like to remove it kind of like a scrub, and wet my hands, then kind of rub the mask off to make sure that I get every bit off and because it makes a great scrub. After I have rinsed off every last bit, I find that my pores look clearer and smaller, and my skin just looks better over all. I will definitely purchase this mask again, but I want to try the Supermud Clearing Treatment mask next.

If you’re serious about trying something to clear up any spots, give this mask a shot. I know it is expensive, but it is worth it. Try the smaller size if you’re unsure!
